Agricare Limited was established in 1968 as a wholly owned international subsidiary of Pfizer Corporation of New York, U.S.A. In 1975 Pfizer Corporation shed off its interest in feed manufacturing. It ceded 25% of its equity holding to some private individuals. The Agricultural Development Bank also acquired 25% of the total share holding. In 1991, Pfizer Corporation sold off its remaining 50% shares of equity to other private individuals.

Agricare Limited received its Certificate of Incorporation Number C-2564 on 9th September, 1968 by the Registrar of Companies in Ghana. The company was re-registered on 18th August, 2015. Agricare limited, with assistance from Injaro Agricultural Capital Holdings Ltd is seeking certification to relevant feed safety systems in order to increase its market share as well demonstrate its due diligence responsibility. Agricare has develop feed quality and safety management systems, adopting Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles and to meet ISO 22000 requirements through the established Feed Safety Team by the company.

The ISO 22000 FSMS specifically defines the feed safety management requirements appropriate for the company to meet global feed safety regulations. These requirements include; documentation requirements, management responsibility, communication, emergency preparedness and response, management review, resource management, planning and realization of safe compound feed for poultry, control of non-conformities arising out the production processes and validation and verification of the feed safety management system. To realize Agricare quest to become the preferred manufacturer and distributor of animal feed in Ghana and West Africa, the Board and Management is committed to the implementation of ISO 22000- Feed Safety Management System – requirements for feed supply chain.
